She has worked not only in academics, but also in government, tourism industry, tourism planning and consultancy. She has conducted a number of national level tourism planning and consultancy projects in China. She brings actionable insights to help businesses navigate tourism policy, brand reputation, and sustainable development in Greater China and beyond.

She was Senior lecturer at the University of Surrey (United Kingdom) and Associate professor at the Macao University of Tourism (Macao, China). Serves on the editorial boards of leading tourism journals including Tourism Management and Journal of China Tourism Research, and advises the Guangdong–Macau Federation of Industry and Commerce on cross‑border policy.
