Professor Yang has over 10 years international working experience in England, New Zealand, and Macao (China). She has worked not only in academics, but also in government, tourism industry, tourism planning and consultancy. She has conducted a number of national level tourism planning and consultancy projects in China. She brings actionable insights to help businesses navigate tourism policy, brand reputation, and sustainable development in Greater China and beyond.

Fully bilingual in English and Chinese, with a proven record of cross‑cultural collaboration facilitate communication, and deliver results in truly global business environments.

She was Senior lecturer at the University of Surrey (United Kingdom) and Associate professor at the Macao University of Tourism (Macao, China). She has been a strategic advisor and policy consultant with extensive experience supporting the Macao SAR Government’s tourism quality initiatives. Serves on the editorial boards of leading tourism journals including Tourism Management and Journal of China Tourism Research, and advises the Guangdong–Macau Federation of Industry and Commerce on cross‑border policy. Recognised as an expert in sustainable tourism and agricultural heritage systems. Frequent keynote speaker at global institutions (LSE, AAA) and media outlets. Bilingual (English/Chinese) with a proven record of leading multicultural teams across a decade of international work.
