George Ubbelohde
George is an internationally recognized hospitality executive and trainer with more than 40 years of leadership experience spanning the hospitality industry, higher education, and professional development across Europe, the Middle East, Southeast Asia, China, and Central Asia.
As one of AHLEI Global Master Trainers, he has dedicated his career to developing hospitality talent and advancing professional education on a global scale.
George has designed, implemented, and facilitated professional and academic certification programs in both face-to-face and virtual environments, certifying thousands of hospitality professionals and educators worldwide. His work has supported leading organizations and
government agencies, including the China Hotel Association, the Azerbaijan Hotel Association, the Saudi Arabia Tourism Authority, the Uzbekistan Ministry of Tourism, and the Indonesia Ministry of Tourism.
Throughout his career, George has held senior executive positions with internationally recognized hospitality organizations, including Sheraton Hotels, Millennium Hotels, Dorint Hotels, Archipelago International, Xijiao State Guest Hotel in Shanghai, and TABIA Hospitality Group, where he served as Chief Operating Officer.
In academia, he has served as Executive Director and Dean of the YueXiu Institute of Hotel Administration in China and as Chief Learning Officer for the Synergia Corporate Academy by TABIA Group.
An accomplished keynote speaker, lecturer, and academic fellow, George actively contributes to the global hospitality and tourism community through education, leadership, and industry collaboration. His professional credentials also include Certified EFQM Assessor, Senior Quality Auditor for the UN Tourism Academy’s TedQual Certification Program, Director of Industry Relations at EMEA CHRIE, HumanGuide Certified Practitioner, and 6C Mental Resilience Certified Practitioner, reflecting his commitment to excellence in quality, leadership, organizational development, and lifelong learning.
