Timothy Marshall

Timothy Marshall is Chairman, Board of Directors International Institute For Peace Through Tourism (IIPT).
He has served as Chairman of the IIPT Board of Directors since 1999. He has held pivotal leadership positions throughout the United States and internationally and has chaired Global Trade Summits at JFK Airport and the Washington, DC Convention Center.
He is the Founding Vice Chairman of two Community Development Corporations in New York, one which has developed over three hundred units of housing for senior citizens and low- and moderate-income residents. He is a member of national and regional non-profit boards in the areas of housing, health care, education and community and economic development; including the National Governing Board for a U. S. Department of Treasury designated CDE.
Mr. Marshall has received numerous honors for his work in underserved communities ranging from the California and New York State Legislatures to leading business and civic organizations and Fortune 500 corporation, including the HSBC Chairman’s Award. He was a 23-year-old journalist when he conducted an exclusive interview with the renowned author James Baldwin at his home in southern France.
As Chairman of the IIPT Board, Mr. Marshall led in renaming IIPT’s Global Peace Park at Victoria Falls in honor of Dr. Maya Angelou. He has addressed global summits at the United Nations in Geneva, Switzerland and in Africa, Asia, and the Middle East on the environmental, economic, and cultural sustainability of the tourism sector through global peace initiatives. In April 2025, he helped to dedicate an IIPT global peace park in Türkiye which recognized children around the world who have been impacted by war. The event was held on National Children’s Day. IIPT has dedicated over 450 global peace parks on six continents around the world.
