Dr. Omar studied in Morocco, France, the Netherlands, and the US, where he received a PhD.

From Michigan State University in Park, Recreation and Tourism Resources. He is widely published.

His edited books are Tourism, Progress and Peace; Controversies in Tourism; The host Gaze in Tourism: and Ideological Social, and Cultural Aspects of Event.

His research interest revolves around the sociology of tourism and consumer behavior. He is now working at the Gulf University for Science and Technology in Kuwait.
