Adão Flores holds a PhD in Management, with a thesis about ”Tourism Destinations Management – the case of Algarve”and is an Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Economics in the University of Algarve, where he teaches Tourism Policy and Strategy, Entrepreneurship, and Qualitative Research Methods. He is member of CINTURS, Research Center for Tourism Sustainability and Wellbeing, where develops research in sustainability issues and ecosystems for tourism entrepreneurship. In the last 15 years he developed several sustainability-focused research projects, knowledge transfer processes and getting close to problems and dynamics of local businesses and best practices in tourism destinations. European projects like FAST-LAIN (business networks for sustainable tourism), WEALTH (promoting local sustainable economic development), TRIANGLE (European knowledge alliance for sustainable tourism research for education masters and training) and SUSTOWNS (developing sustainability in small and medium towns of the Mediterranean area) sum-up that intense activity.
