Who is Amaka Amatokwu Ndekwu?
Amaka Amatokwu-Ndekwu is an award-winning hospitality professional with a proven history of tenacity, strong drive, passion and leadership for over 10 years.
She obtained an AMP certificate from Lagos Business School focused on Business Management & Marketing, Business Management at the European School of Economics, London UK, a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Madonna University, Okija Nigeria, an e-certification from the ESSEC Business School on Hotel Distribution Fundamentals. She is an Alumni of The Castell Project Leadership Programme, Atlanta.
She is the Co- Founder and Chairperson of The African Association of Women In Tourism and Hospitality ( AAWTH); the Founder, Past- President and Board Chairperson of The Women in Hospitality Nigeria (WIHN).
She sits on the board of some hospitality and tourism organizations.
Her other accomplishments include: a Mentor with the Lagos Business School, The Cherie Blair Foundation for Women In Business, UK, a Partner to Interswitch Group on their Merchant Payment Services for hospitality & lifestyle organizations, a Top 100 Founding Member of Manatee Mentors/ App, Basel Switzerland, a course Facilitator for the International Security Organization, Switzerland, a Member of WIH Global, a member of the African Tourism Board, a Mentor Instructor for Typsy, Australia & a member of the NESG Thematic group for Tourism and Hospitality.
She has contributed to the reforms, reshaping, growth and socio- economic development of the hospitality & tourism industry in Nigeria, Africa and the diaspora. Her impact and contributions have earned her several award nominations, award wins and international recognition award as Tourism Hero 2021 by the World Tourism Network.
She established the first prestigious hospitality & tourism awards in Nigeria (The Pyne Awards) which has taken place 4 years in a row and has expanded to other sub regions in Africa.
