Who is Anthony Ogden?

A scholar-practitioner of international education, Dr. Anthony C. Ogden completed a doctorate at Pennsylvania State University in Educational Theory and Policy with a dual title in Comparative and International Education.  He has held senior leadership positions at Pennsylvania State University, the University of Kentucky, Michigan State University, and the University of Wyoming.  He currently holds faculty appointments at the Middlebury Institute for International Studies in Monterey and the American College of Education, where he teaches a range of courses related to comprehensive internationalization. A three-time Fulbright recipient, Ogden’s research interests focus broadly on international higher education.  His most recent publications include Education Abroad and the Undergraduate Experience: Critical Perspectives and Approaches to Integration with Student learning and Development (Stylus, 2019) and Education Abroad: Bridging Scholarship and Practice (Routledge, 2020).  A noted international education expert by the U.S. Department of State, Ogden has conducted formal program evaluations in 25 countries across Asia, Africa, Latin America, and Europe. Currently, Ogden is also a partner in the Gateway International Group, an organization dedicated to supporting client institutions with harnessing new and expanded strategies for the next generation of international education.
