Bill Sell

Bill Sell has over 46 years in strategic event creation and media management. If a media property, company, or association wants to go face-to-face or create a virtual event, Bill is the person to bring in.

As Managing Partner of Advisor Communications he’s been counsel to senior staff or executives in charge of events in a number of markets including cloud computing, biotech, IoT, VoIP, equestrian, new automobiles dealership management, e-bike manufacturer market development, high tech trade shows, and Boston Comic Con and the Sports Biometrics Conference. He has helped grow and manages a large regional food truck and 165 vendor booths community music festival with over 8000 attendees for the MetroWest Visitors Bureau, resurrected a Farmers Market for a municipal government going from 4 vendors to 90+ and attracting an average of 1850+ customers weekly.

His past leadership experience includes time with the Massachusetts Convention Center Authority heading up event development, and seven years as Vice President and General Manager of COMDEX in Las Vegas (the then most significant trade show in America), and the development and launch of CeBIT America. Bill also served as the Vice President of Events with Fidelity Investment’s Fidelity Capital/Seaport World Trade Center Boston; and as VP of Planning and Development at IDG’s World Expo, with ComNet and MacWorld Expo as two of the key product groups.

A frequent industry speaker and trainer on benefits of face-to-face marketing, Bill is a founding board member of the Society of Independent Show Organizers and past chair of the New England chapter of the International Association for Exhibitions and Events. He has served as a mentor and counsel with MassIncubator and as marketing advisor for non-profits.
