Stroma Cole

Dr Stroma Cole is a Reader at the University of Westminster. She is best known for her longitudinal action research project exploring the tourism-water nexus in Bali. Stroma is an activist researcher critiquing the consequences of tourism development. Her social and environmental justice research explores the links between water rights, gender, and tourism with a focus on resilience to increased water scarcity, because of climate change. She is the PI on a Horizon project that takes a gendered and intersectional lens to explore the future of tourism work. Stroma has over 60 publications, is on the editorial board for Annals of Tourism Research, Journal of Sustainable Tourism and Tourism Geographies. She is co-director of the charity Equality in Tourism.
