Who is Daisy Fan?
Dr Daisy Fan is a Senior Lecturer in Tourism and Hospitality at Bournemouth University Business School, UK, specialising in tourist behaviour, social contact, cultural distance, senior wellbeing and cruise travel. She is a Ph.D. graduate (in 2016) of the Hong Kong Polytechnic University and worked in a hotel consulting company in Hong Kong prior to her academic career. During 2016-2021, she published 25 journal articles in SSCI indexed journals.
She also leads/participates in different government funded projects with interdisciplinary collaboration, including “Towards a Better Quality of Life: Value Co-Creation in Leisure/Tourism/Hospitality with the Active Elderly” and “Humanising digital tourism experience for senior tourists: Conceptualisation, diagnosis and progression”. She won the Best Paper of the Year awarded by Journal of Hospitality & Tourism Research, 2019 and the Thea Sinclair Award for Journal Article Excellence, awarded by Sage Publishing and Tourism Economics in 2020. She is also the Assistant Editor for Tourism Review and the Managing Editor of the Journal of Quality Assurance in Hospitality & Tourism.
