R. Benton Keough

Benton Keough is an international specialist in tourism security with expertise in such areas as illegal drugs and gang violence. Keough has over 20 years of experience in Texas law enforcement where he has won numerous awards including the medal of honor. He holds a Bachelor’s degree from Texas A&M University and is certified as a Master Police Officer. Keough is an expert in the planning and execution of tactical operations, security for major sporting events and stadiums.
In 2023, Keough formally joined the Tourism & More team. In this capacity he has been involved in numerous projects throughout Latin America. Keough’s work allows him to be on tourism security assessment teams and to develop strategic planning for international resorts. Keough also trains police officers on tourism security’s current trends.
Keough was an active member of the College Station Tourism Police and specialized in tourism district policing. For more than a decade and a half Keough has also been a member of the College Station (Texas) SWAT team and became its team leader in 2024. As a former detective Keough’s work in illegal currencies and crypto-currencies makes him especially important to the tourism industry. In 2025 Keough was promoted to Vice President of Tourism & More.
Keough uses his people skills to inspire both tourism security professionals and industry leaders in methodologies that create a safe yet unintrusive environment within the world of tourism. Keough has strong communication and technical skills. He uses his keen analytical skills in policy assessment and change analysis. He enhances tourism safety and security by applying his law enforcement and teaching experience to enhance Tourism & More’s offerings.
