Dr. Xavier Matteucci currently works at FHWien der WKW (University of Applied Sciences in Management and Communication). He is also an adjunct faculty at other universities in Austria. Xavier holds an MSc degree in Tourism Management from the University of Surrey (UK) and a PhD from the Vienna University of Economics and Business (Austria). Xavier’s work has been published in high impact international journals such as Annals of Tourism Research, Tourism Management, Journal of Sustainable Tourism and Leisure Studies.

Xavier is particularly interested in leisure and tourism’s contribution to human flourishing and collective wellbeing. His latest work has focused on the quality of human relationships exploring the themes of love and intimacy. He is a member of the Editorial Board of Tourism Analysis, the Journal of Qualitative Research in tourism (JQRT) and Consumer Behavior in Tourism & Hospitality (CBTH). He regularly serves as a reviewer for major tourism, leisure and hospitality journals. Apart from his academic activities, Xavier has led European Commission funded consultancy research projects on sustainable cultural tourism in South-East Europe.
