Who is Dr.Nur Shariffuddin?

Dr.Nur Shahirah Mior Shariffuddin is a senior tourism lecturer at the Faculty of Applied Social Sciences (FSSG), Universiti Sultan Zainal Abidin (UnisZA), Malaysia. She joined the University in 2014 as an assistant lecturer and she is currently a Coordinator of Academic Programme at FSSG.

Her qualifications include a BSc (Hons.) in Tourism Management and M.A. in Tourism from Universiti Teknologi Mara (UiTM), Malaysia. She was awarded a PhD in Management Studies in 2019 by the University of Exeter Business School, United Kingdom for her research on Islands’ Destination Competitiveness.

Dr Nur has expanded her deep interest of tourism research in the areas of overtourism, networking and digitalization in tourism. Some of the consultancy projects in which Dr Nur has been involved demonstrate impact on tourism development.

She is also working as part of project team with several external bodies in establishing new academic tourism program and consultancy service for community development (tourism cluster) for State Legislative Assembly of Kemasik, Terengganu. She is also one of the keynote speakers for International Webinar Indonesia-Malaysia 2020, sharing her inputs related to Event Management in the Pandemic era.
