Mokhlesur Rahman is Rector, Bangladesh Institute of Tourism Studies (BITS).

He comes from the background of natural science. He blends his 25 years of experiences in tourism, wants to create a new theme: Developmental Tourism and dreams to transform the rural community in Bangladesh. Also, he wants to develop village as healthy, wealthy and peaceful living place by applying tourism.

He is the author of 11 tourism books, amongst 4 are textbooks. He participated many national and international conferences and presented more than 50 papers on various innovative issues of tourism. Cooperative-based tourism is his innovation in Bangladesh.
