Mr. Samik Ray received National Tourism Award (Ministry of Tourism, Govt. of India) in the category of Best Tourist Guide in 2017 and Certificate of Excellence for Overseas Adventure Travel, South ASIA, from Overseas Adventure Travel, USA in 2015, is RLG (East)/ IITG, Govt. of India, department of Tourism, since 1984, Registered trainer of skillindia, was trainer of Govt. of India’s Guide Training Courses (1994-95 & 1996-97), is trainer of Guide Training courses of Govt. of West Bengal, trainer in different skill development training programs of Govt. of India (Tourism Ministry), taught tourism and folklore at universities, delivered lecture at seminars; webinars; Tourism Skill Development workshops, chaired sessions at national and international seminars and webinars on Tourism, and edited the journal ‘Tourism: Theory and Practice’ and published articles and chapters in academic journals and internationally acclaimed edited tourism volumes.
