Susiana Nugraha

Dr. Susiana Nugraha a public health researcher interested in aging populations and gerontological issues. She obtained her doctorate in public health from the University of Indonesia in 2022 and developed the Indonesian Fall Risk Assessment Tool for the elderly. Since then, she has led the Center for Family and Aging Studies (CeFAS) as director, focusing on family and aging issues. Susiana also develops community-based active aging programs in the West Java region and serves as Director of the West Java Aged Friendly Foundation.

Susiana has received several awards, including the Healthy Ageing Prize for Asian Innovation (HAPI) Award for assisting the elderly during the Covid-19 pandemic, community empowerment award, and being honored as the best lecturer in 2021. She is also an active researcher in the field of aging, particularly the migration of health workers to Japan through the Economic Partnership Agreement program.

Susiana has received several research grants, including the Ministry of Education Republic Indonesia’s study on the quality of life of older people (2018) and the development of the fall risk assessment tool for Indonesian older people in the community (2019-2022). She has also worked with various foundations, such as the Nakajima Foundation, Mitsubishi Foundation, ERIA, Toyota Foundation, and ERIA-KEISHIN GAKUEN, to study the resilience of long-term care facilities during the COVID-19 pandemic. From 2020, she is managing mobile aging application content, Golantang, managed under the National Board of Demographic and Family Planning (BKKBN).
