Who is Viviana Castillo?

James “Tim” Wallace is an Emeritus Associate Professor of Sociology and Anthropology at North Carolina State University. Since 1994, he was the founder and director of the NC State Ethnographic Field School. His program took place in Hungary, Costa Rica and most recently in Lake Atitlán, Guatemala.  This highly respected program is still running in Lake Atitlan after more than 25 years. Additionally, Dr. Wallace has organized, led and supervised service-learning programs abroad in many countries.  Currently he is collaborating with colleagues in Facultad de Arte y Diseño at Universidad Jorge Tadeo Lozano in Bogotá, Colombia leading summer field school programs exploring experiential design techniques to support heritage conservation and economic viability in Colombia’s Caribbean region.
