Tourism policy and industry leader with over 30 years of experience in tourism development, destination management, and international cooperation. As President of APIT, Sergiu Manea has played an active role in advancing tourism policy, strengthening public–private dialogue, and promoting cross-border cooperation.
He is also one of the coordinators and promoters of the National Tourism Platform of the Republic of Moldova, a collaborative framework designed to bring together public authorities, the private sector, local stakeholders, and international partners in support of a more coherent and competitive tourism ecosystem.
Sergiu Manea advocates for the modernization of Moldova’s tourism governance framework, the development of Destination Management Organizations (DMOs), and the creation of a modern national destination management system aligned with European practices. He also promotes strategic regional initiatives, including the Iași–Chișinău–Odesa tourism cooperation concept.
