Biubwa Omar Khamis is the Founder & CEO of Safari Gateway Ltd, a tour company promoting sustainable tourism in Zanzibar. With over 15 years of experience in the tourism sector, she has represented Zanzibar at international tourism events and is deeply committed to empowering local communities, supporting a sustainable economy, and protecting the environment.

She currently serves as the Chairperson of the Zanzibar Women Chamber of Commerce, leading initiatives to support women entrepreneurs, and as a Board Member in the Tourism Cluster of the Zanzibar National Chamber of Commerce, where she advocates for tourism sector growth and SME support. Previously, she was the Treasurer of the Zanzibar Association of Tour Operators, managing the association’s finances.

Her educational background includes an Advanced Certificate of Secondary Education from Sunni Madressa School and technical training from Kengeja Technical Secondary School.
