Professor Popesku Jovan, Ph.D. is President of Institute for Peace through Tourism (IIPT Serbia Chapter) and of Centre for Responsible and Sustainable Tourism Development (CenORT), Belgrade, Serbia. Until October 2021 he has been Professor at Singidunum University, Department for Tourism and Hospitality Management, Belgrade, Serbia. His field of research includes tourism destination management, sustainable tourism management, tourism marketing and special interest tourism. He has published a number of books and textbooks, as well as papers in journals and participated at domestic and international conferences. He was author and supervisor of domestic and international projects primarily related to management and marketing, especially at the tourism destination level. He is experienced tourism development and marketing specialist, specialized for projects focusing on local and regional tourism destinations and specific tourism products (rural and ecotourism). He was the first Director General of National Tourism Organization of Serbia. He is member of AIEST (International Association of Scientific Experts in Tourism).
